What would I do?

I’m not entirely sure what would be right for this decision. Giving up civilization, I would not do that. All these electronics are ver important. Example phones, how will we be able to communicate with each other quick enough. We can’t just send a letter on the spot. If evil people were to make cars and I had to drive it or not at all. I can’t trust them because it might just be a total rip off but moving to one place to another is more important. How will we get to your destinations faster than cars, on roads, on a hot/cold day? As I said before all these civilized electronics .etc are very important. A lot of these things are made of plastic. Even if it’s harmful to the environment. This means no computers, phones and many more!!!

Who would I be in the book for a day?

In the novel there are quite a few characters I would like to be. But for a day, I would be one of Mrs Frisby’s kids, excluding Timothy. The reason for this is because they don’t do much in the book. I could live for a day staying underground and taking care and watching a sick sibling. But I would be very worried knowing my mother is risking her life for us. So far still the book is actually getting interesting in the lab.

Comparing The book and The Film

My opinion on the book so far, we should have read 12 chapters. I think it’s good because I really don’t read books like this. Im use to Legends, Horror, adventure, Fun facts, Jokebooks. I think the book does have a lot of heroism, adversity, friendship, trust and loyalty. When I first layed my eyes on the cover I wasn’t interested but then I realized this book is for kids around my age.

Earliar in english this week we had a sneak peek of the film. It was actually named “The secrets of NIMH” and Mrs Frisby is now Mrs Brisby. It was explained that the makers of the movie would have been sued using the word Frisby. The film started out with Mrs Frisby at Mr Ages place looking for him. The skipped about 2 chapters. Mr Ages was more grumpy in the film and was annoyed with Mrs Frisby asking for his help. When in the novel he gladly wanted to help. There was a lot of things I did’nt expect. When Mrs Frisby got the medicine for Timothy on her way she met Jeremy tangled in string. Jeremy’s character was more clumbsy than I expected. Though I think they did a good job with him, rather funny. Though the film seemed for someone a little younger. What I least expected was when Dragon the cat was crawling up to them, he actually tried to attack aggressively and he sounded like a beast that could swallow up a real cat. Another thing that was unexpected was that the Shrew played an auntie character. She waited in the house for Mrs Brisby’s return to warn her about Mr. Fitzgibbon. This is when Mrs Brisby played a hero part. As I expected Mr. Fitzgibbon started the tractor and accelerated away. As there house were about to come to an end with Timothy inside either Mrs Briby or The shrew broke the glass containing the oil. This never happened in the book. the book also mentioned that Jeremy told about the owl but it was the Shrew who did. After skipping a bit from the book Mrs Brisby was already on the Jeremy’s back. When they arrived Jeremy was the one who was mostle scared of The owl. Where the owl lived looked like nothing than I imagined. I found the owl described like in the book, except his voice. When Mrs Brisby arrived at the rosebush it was not making sense. I imagined it more safer and when she saw Brutus , a guard, holding an elctrical spear of doom and trying to cut her head off. In the book Brutus actually talked to her and just chased her out. I expect many more differences. It is true that sometimes the book is better than the film.

English- My example of suffering adversity.

In Mrs Frisby and the rats of NIMH Mrs Frisby does suffer from adversity that she must overcome. An example from suffering adversity is a book I read from my favourite author Jeff Kinney. He writes the series of Diary of a Wimpy kid. He has successfully made 5 books including an activity book. My example is the third book he wrote: Diary of a wimpy kid, THE LAST STRAW. It’s really funny and with the best illustrations. In this book the main character Greg Heffley, has to overcome many adversities as an ordinary middle school kid. The main one is that his dad had an idea. He wants Greg to change his wimpy ways and toughen up. And when he is threatened to send Greg to military academy, Greg realizes he has to shape up… or get shipped out.

Term 3- Mrs frisby and the rats of NIMH (R.O.N)

We are just just starting a new novel. For homework we have to right about the predicament Mrs Frisby was in in chaper one.

Mrs Frisby was the head of a family of field mice. They lived in an underground house in the vegetable garden of a farmer named Mr Fitzgibbon. It was a winter house. To a human mice and rats are not as important so if they are seen they would be killed. Not only the farmer there cats, birds and at night time it becomes like a suicide place, there’s also owls. Being mice is tough especially when she has a family under her care. Mrs Frisby’s husband had died. Also there’s the situation of food. Everyday they get the same thing to eat like corn. The worse is that Mrs Friby’s youngest son, Timothy, fell sick. He was the frailest and when colds or flu or virus infections came around he was the first to catch them and the slowest to recover. He had hypochondiac- means you always think your sick. Soon he gets worse as well as faving a high fever. Soon in two or three weeks it will be time for the moving. This is hard for Mrs Frisby and for Timothy’s siblings. To show how ill Timothy is, this is from the book- Timothy was much worse. His eyes looked wild and strange from the fever; he trembled continuosly, and each breath he took sounded like a gasp for life.

How would you feel if you were a peasent? What is the Domesday book?

The peasents would really have no respect. They would probably have to live in a very bad condition. They would have probably have to work hard for the land lord. If they anything good other people might just take it from them because they were just so weak. They would have to pay taxes if not they would be beaten or worst, they could possibly be jailed. The men would have to work all day while the woman cook and take care of their child. If they were possibly to get ill they might not get the help. It would be really hard for them to afford anthing so they would have to wear the same thing. It would also be hard to obtain food. Life must be really hard for the peasents at that time.

The Domesday Books is one of Medieval England’s greatest treasures. The Domesday Book is closely linked with William the Conqueror’s attempt to dominate Medieval England. Along with castles throughout England, the Domesday Book was to give William huge authority in England. To be more in control of England, William 1 ordered a book to be made containing information on who owned what throughout the country. This book would also tell him who owed him what in tax and because the information was on record, nobody could argue against a tax demand. This why the book brought doom to the people of England-”Domesday Book”. William ordered the survey of England to take place about twenty years after the Battle of Hastings. It took place in 1085 but other sources say it took place in 1086. The whole survey took less than a year to complete.

Geography HW

Dear Mr. Obama

I am writing to you because I really want to tell you my concerns for the next few decades. You are one of the people I know that can help the Earth because you have the power to do it.

As I mentioned before this world will soon get worse. So before these things happen I would like to warn you. First of all the weather is changing. Global warming is a big problem to Earth. It’s the pollution from cars, power stations, burning fossil fuels, oil, coal and gas. All of this is thinning and damaging the Ozone Layer which protects the Earth from the heat of the sun. If you could do something like ban cars that run on oil and use something that won’t harm the earth. Eventually we will run out of these things soon so you have to something. You could at least save some time by announcing that everyone that has a car must carpool. I hope you can do something about this as fast as possible.

Secondly there is the rising of sea levels, low lying areas and coastal cities will be at increased risk from flooding by rising sea levels. Current sea level rise is due partly to Global warming. The main cause is the melting of the continental ice sheets which is cause by Global warming. If only you could do something to protect low lying areas and coastal cities from being flood.

I hope you are now more aware of what might happen in the next few decades. Please try to act as fast as possible.

Yours sincerely Irfan

Eid dress up: English Homework

  !!!

When I woke up on the first day of Eid and I was so excited. As excited as a child celebrating his birthday! I was told to look my best before we go out. I wore my traditional clothes and they were bright gold and silky. The top was so comfortable but tight on the collar. Before we took our photograph I had to deliver some food to one of my neighbors. I was tired when I came back and realized I hadn’t had breakfast. After breakfast we took a few family photographs, I really wanted to see the photographs but my mom hurried us into the car. We were going to a building where a lot of people go to Eid.

When we arrived it looked as if we were late because it was crowded and there was a long queue for the food and drinks. I waited in the line for 15 minutes under the burning sun until I was at the front of the line. Then I realized I was in the line for the drinks. My stomach started making noises but I took a drink anyway. I got out of the line and I was leaning on this tree next to my sisters. I took a few sips and then I accidently dropped my cup. I started walking up to my dad and started complaining to him about the heat, he said we’re going to someone’s  house for lunch and then 3 other houses. I was as tired as waking up for school which is really annoying but I couldn’t complain on a special day.

On our way to the car there was a sandstorm which blew everywhere around the cars and it turned me as blind as bat. I was left behind while I was rubbing my eyes. Soon after a fun and tiring day of Eid I was back home 11:00 o’clock and clothes were dirtier than before. I enjoyed all the food and meeting my friends but stopped thinking about it when I was sound asleep.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed!

Egypt game- Prisonors of fear

If I was a character in the book and I was stuck inside the house what would I do?

Well since in the book its like 1960 and theres no electronics than I would be quite bored and the fact that I have nowhere to go except stay home. What I would do for fun is invite my nearby friends or play as much as I can with my friends in school. But if I can’t play with my friends I would be quite upset. But the least I can do is read a book in silence. Until I can go outside I would rarely be in the house.
